저만 위기감을 느끼는 것일까요?
AI 기술 특히 Chat GPT 얘기를 해도 아무런 생각이 없으신 분들이 80%는 되는거 같습니다. (사실 저는 같은 날 올린 제 비트코인 영상보다 위에 제 GPT영상을 더 봤으면 했거든요…엄청난 문제의식을 느끼고.)
이런 얘기를 해도 아무런 반응이 없습니다. “So what?” 더 재밌는 사실은 테크 업계에 있는 사람들 특히 엔지니어 및 제품을 만드는 사람들은 또 적응하며 살아남겠지만, 그렇지 않은 직종이 테크 바깥에 많은데도 관심이 없습니다.
박경철 선생님의 ‘W’ 강의에서 말씀하셨던 99% 잉여인간, 0.1%의 천재, 그리고 0.9%는 0.1%의 그 천재를 알아본다고 했죠. 저 역시 잉여인간에 속하는데 잉여인간내에서도 정규분포를 그려볼 수 있는거 같습니다. 아무런 생각이 없고 오히려 고요합니다.
그저 “Chat GPT가 재밌는 장난감 정도구나”라 생각하시면 안 됩니다. 인공지능 기술은 학부에서 전공했던 저마저도 상상도 못할 만큼 크게 발전했습니다. 그것도 4년만에. 펜데믹때 할게 없던 이 분야에 돌+아이 천재급 과학자와 엔지니어가 달라 붙어 지금 그 결실을 보는게 아닐까 생각들 정도입니다.
AI에 의한 산업재편이 두려움을 유발하는 이유는 그 ‘속도’가 빠르기 때문입니다.
그렇기에 적응을 빨리 하지 못하는 자는 도태되는 속도가 엄청 빠를거 같습니다. 그리고 지금 이미 늦은지도 모르겠습니다. 또한 숙련공과 비숙련공의 경계를 허물것 입니다. 예전에는 시니어 개발자한테가서 물어봐야할 질문을 ChatGPT가 대신해줄 수 있습니다.
참고로 지금 Chat GPT는 대부분 GPT-3을 쓰고 있습니다. 저번주에 GPT-4가 나왔고…앞으로 GPT-5, 6, 7, 8….이렇게 나온다면 그 미래가 어떻게 될까요? 여기에다 구글이 개발하는 인공지능이 상용화되면 어찌될까요? 구글에다 마소에다 애플에다 이런 애들이 다 먹겠죠? 그렇게 되면 노동자들은 들고 일어날 것이고, 21세기판 러다이트 운동이 시작될 수 도 있습니다.

또 제가 기술신봉자가 되어 GPT말이면 무조건 맞다…구글신은 모든걸 안다….이런 함정에 빠져 판단력을 잃지는 않을까 걱정도 됩니다. 안 그래도 생각하지 않는 저와 같은 잉여인간들은 더욱 생각을 안하겠죠. 생각을 안하면 어떻게 될까요? 조종 당하겠죠. 이런 AI를 만들고 소유한 이들한테.
AI가 할 수 없는게 뭘까? 결국 다 할 것인데 지금 버전에서 못 하는게 뭘까? 이런 고민을 하게 만듭니다.
